Message pagination now constrains client-provided cursors to the
PostgreSQL integer range used by `messages.id`, preventing oversized
values from raising database errors while preserving before/after
pagination semantics.

- [Sentry 7663464772](https://chatwoot-p3.sentry.io/issues/7663464772/)
## How to reproduce
Request conversation messages with an extremely large `before` or
`after` cursor, such as `4611686018427387903`. PostgreSQL previously
rejected the value as outside the range for the integer `messages.id`
column.
## What changed
- Normalize message cursors before they reach the query.
- Clamp them to the valid signed 32-bit integer ID range.
- Cover oversized `before` and `after` cursors with finder specs.
AgentBot-owned conversations are now treated as assigned across
conversation lists, counts, pagination, permissions, unread membership,
human auto-assignment, and advanced assignee filters.

## Follow-ups
-
https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-7870/refresh-agentbot-ownership-state-when-deleting-an-agent-bot
tracks ownership refresh during AgentBot deletion.
-
https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-7899/refresh-saved-filter-totals-after-live-conversation-ownership-changes
tracks the existing saved-filter header count refresh gap.
## Why
The backend treated every conversation without a human assignee as
unassigned, even when an AgentBot owned it. The frontend already hid
AgentBot-owned conversations from the Unassigned list, so counts,
pagination, filters, unread membership, direct-access permissions, and
auto-assignment could disagree with the visible queue.
## What changed
- Treat conversations with either a human assignee or AgentBot owner as
assigned.
- Keep conversation counts, pagination, unread memberships, advanced
filters, and automation assignee conditions aligned with the shared
ownership semantics.
- Keep human assignee equality and not-equality filters human-only, even
when a human and AgentBot have the same numeric ID.
- Exclude AgentBot-owned conversations from both legacy and V2 human
auto-assignment, and from unassigned-only Enterprise access.
- Preserve AgentBot ownership when Twilio or WhatsApp call flows reuse
or accept an assigned conversation.
- Emit ownership-change updates when only the AgentBot owner changes, so
connected clients refresh queue state.
## Validation
- AgentBot assignment changed ownership to the bot, moved the
conversation to pending, and removed it from the open queue.
- Assignee "is present" returned human- and AgentBot-owned
conversations; "is not present" returned only genuinely unassigned
conversations.
- Automation assignee presence conditions treated AgentBot ownership as
present and did not execute the absent-owner path.
- Live human-assignee equality and not-equality filters excluded
AgentBot-owned conversations, including numeric ID collisions.
- A 32-conversation pending queue loaded across pagination with matching
totals and no missing or duplicate rows.
- AgentBot ownership changes and human takeover updated filtered rows
immediately without a reload.
- Human takeover opened the conversation and restored the public reply
composer; subsequent unassignment kept the conversation open.
- An unassigned-only custom-role agent saw only genuinely unassigned
conversations and could not see AgentBot-owned conversations.
- AgentBot-owned conversations showed the handled-by-bot banner, Take
over action, and disabled public reply composer.
- New conversations in the connected inbox were assigned to the AgentBot
and excluded from human auto-assignment.
- Opening an AgentBot-owned conversation did not let the legacy
assignment callback or its locked recheck replace the bot.
- Moving an AgentBot-owned conversation to an auto-assigning team
preserved the bot and did not create a second human owner.
- Twilio conference pickup, Twilio outbound reuse, WhatsApp outbound
reuse, and inbound WhatsApp acceptance preserved existing AgentBot
owners.
- Focused ownership, filters, pagination, permissions, unread-count,
auto-assignment, frontend, and lint checks passed locally.
- GitHub Actions, Docker builds, CircleCI, security checks, and the
final Codex review are green on the final head.
An agent who is removed from an inbox could still see that inbox's
conversations under the **Participating** filter. Removing an agent from
an inbox does not delete the conversation participant records they
already had, and the participating filter was ignoring inbox access
entirely — so those conversations stayed visible indefinitely. The
filter now respects inbox access like every other conversation filter.
## Linear Ticket
- https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-6923
## How to reproduce
1. Add an agent to two inboxes, A and B.
2. As that agent, become a participant on a conversation in inbox B
(open it, or get added as a participant).
3. Remove the agent from inbox B in Settings → Inboxes → Collaborators.
4. Log in as the agent and open Conversations → Participating.
5. The inbox B conversation is still listed, and is openable.
## What changed
`ConversationFinder#filter_by_conversation_type` **replaced**
`@conversations` with `current_user.participating_conversations` for the
`participating` type, discarding the inbox/permission-filtered scope
built up by `Conversations::PermissionFilterService` immediately before
it. It now narrows the existing scope by participating ids instead, so
permission filtering survives.
## Description
Adds an admin-only Intercom import workflow under Settings > Data.
Admins can connect an Intercom access token, start named historical
contact/conversation imports, monitor active and previous import runs,
review paginated skip/error logs, download skip logs, and route imported
conversations into source-bucket API inboxes that can be renamed later.
The import path stores durable source mappings, batches Intercom
contact/conversation pages through Sidekiq, records already-imported
records as skipped, and writes historical messages without normal
outbound delivery callbacks. The PR also includes the Intercom import
PRD/TDD document for review context.

## Description
Reverts [#14726](https://github.com/chatwoot/chatwoot/pull/14726)
(\"feat: Add sidebar unread counts for filters (CW-7262)\"), which
shipped in 4.15.0.
After 4.15.0 rolled out to prod the unread-counts-for-filters code path
caused a cascading incident:
- `Counter#ensure_filters_cache!` fires on every `/unread_counts/index`
and `update_last_seen` request.
- On cache miss it calls `Builder#build_filters_for!`, which:
- invokes `store.clear_user_filters!` -> `delete_matching` -> a Redis
`SCAN_each` over a per-user pattern keyspace, and
- runs 4 fresh SQL passes per user (mentions, participating, unattended,
and per-folder `Conversations::FilterService` queries).
- Threads blocked in the SCAN held their DB connections, the connection
pool exhausted, Sidekiq jobs were discarded with
`ActiveJob::DeserializationError: could not obtain a connection from the
pool`, and the enqueued queue blew past 200K.

## Description
Extends the conversation unread-count system so the left sidebar can
show unread badges for Mentions, Participating, Unattended, and saved
conversation folders. Folder badges reuse the existing `custom_filters`
conversation filter semantics, store user-scoped Redis sets lazily, and
skip unsupported folder filters so invalid saved folders continue to
render without a badge. The Unattended badge counts all visible unread
open conversations that match the existing unattended conversation
scope.
Closes
-
[CW-7262](https://linear.app/chatwoot/issue/CW-7262/unread-counts-for-filters-folders)
## What changed
- Added user-scoped unread-count Redis keys and cache builders for
mentions, participating conversations, unattended conversations, and
saved folder filters.
- Reused `Conversations::FilterService` through a relation-returning
path so folder counts match the folder conversation list behavior.
- Invalidated user filter caches from mention, participant,
custom-filter, and relevant conversation update events.
- Extended the unread-count endpoint payload and sidebar Vuex/sidebar
rendering for the new badge counts, including the Unattended sidebar
item.
- Added Ruby, Enterprise, request, listener, and frontend store coverage
for the new unread-count dimensions.
## Type of change
- [x] New feature (non-breaking change which adds functionality)
## How Has This Been Tested?
- Created local validation folders for `john@acme.inc` and confirmed the
unread-count payload includes open, resolved, and high-priority folder
badges while excluding the invalid unsupported folder.
- Added coverage for the Unattended badge rule: all visible unread open
conversations matching `Conversation.unattended`.
- Ran focused unread-count Ruby specs, including service, listener,
request, and Enterprise counter coverage.
- Ran frontend unread-count store specs.
- Ran RuboCop on the touched Ruby files.
- Ran ESLint through the project script; it completed with warnings in
existing unrelated files and no errors.

## PR2: Report builder refactor — DataSource abstraction
The existing report builders (timeseries + summary) had their SQL
queries inlined — each builder constructed its own scopes, groupings,
and aggregations directly. This made it hard to swap the underlying data
source without duplicating builder logic.
This PR extracts all raw-event querying into a `Reports::RawDataSource`
behind a `Reports::DataSource` factory. Builders now call
`data_source.timeseries`, `.aggregate`, or `.summary` instead of
constructing queries themselves. Behavior is identical —
`DataSource.for(...)` returns `RawDataSource` in all cases today.
The timeseries path had two separate builders (`CountReportBuilder`,
`AverageReportBuilder`) that were selected via a metric-name case
statement in `Conversations::BaseReportBuilder`. These are replaced by a
single `ReportBuilder` that delegates to the data source. The metric
type (count vs average) is now decided inside the data source, not the
builder.
Summary builders similarly moved their inline SQL into
`RawDataSource#summary`, which returns a unified hash keyed by dimension
ID.
the rollup read path.
## Flow
### Before
```
ReportsController ──▶ case metric ──▶ AverageReportBuilder ──▶ inline SQL ──▶ DB
└──▶ CountReportBuilder ──▶ inline SQL ──▶ DB
SummaryController ──▶ AgentSummaryBuilder ──▶ inline SQL ──▶ DB
└──▶ InboxSummaryBuilder ──▶ inline SQL ──▶ DB
└──▶ TeamSummaryBuilder ──▶ inline SQL ──▶ DB
```
### After
```
ReportsController ──▶ ReportBuilder ──┐
├──▶ DataSource.for ──▶ RawDataSource ──▶ DB
SummaryController ──▶ SummaryBuilder ──┘
```
### Expected (after rollup read path)
```
ReportsController ──▶ ReportBuilder ──┐
├──▶ DataSource.for ──▶ RawDataSource ──▶ reporting_events
SummaryController ──▶ SummaryBuilder ──┘ └──▶ RollupDataSource ──▶ reporting_events_rollups
```
### What changed
- `Reports::DataSource` factory + `Reports::RawDataSource`
- `TimezoneHelper#timezone_name_from_params` — prefers IANA name, falls
back to offset
- Unified `Timeseries::ReportBuilder` replaces `CountReportBuilder` +
`AverageReportBuilder`
- Summary builders delegate to `DataSource` instead of querying directly
### How to test
This is a pure refactor — all existing report pages (Overview, Agent,
Inbox, Label, Team) should produce identical numbers. No feature flag or
new config needed.

# Pull Request Template
## Summary
- Adds `perform_meta_only` method to `ConversationFinder` that runs
setup and counts without loading the paginated conversation list
- Updates `/api/v1/conversations/meta` to use `perform_meta_only`
instead of `perform`
## Problem
The `/meta` endpoint calls `ConversationFinder#perform` which:
1. Runs all filters and setup (`set_up`)
2. Computes 3 COUNT queries (`set_count_for_all_conversations`)
3. Filters by assignee type
4. **Builds the full paginated conversation list** with
`.includes(:taggings, :inbox, {assignee: {avatar_attachment: [:blob]}},
{contact: {avatar_attachment: [:blob]}}, :team, :contact_inbox)` +
sorting + pagination
The controller then **discards the conversations** and only uses the
counts:
```ruby
def meta
result = conversation_finder.perform
@conversations_count = result[:count] # conversations thrown away
end
```
## Type of change
- [x] Performance fix
## How Has This Been Tested?
- [ ] Verify /meta returns correct mine/unassigned/assigned/all counts
- [ ] Verify counts update when switching inbox, team, or status filters
- [ ] Verify conversation list still loads correctly (uses perform, not
affected)
- [ ] Monitor response time reduction for /meta in NewRelic after deploy

Database CPU utilization was spiking due to expensive notification COUNT
queries. Analysis revealed two critical issues:
1. Missing database index: Notification count queries were performing
table scans without proper indexing
2. Duplicate WHERE clauses: SQL queries contained redundant read_at IS
NULL conditions, causing unnecessary query complexity
### Root Cause Analysis
The expensive queries were:
```
-- 41.61 calls/sec with duplicate condition
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM "notifications"
WHERE "notifications"."user_id" = $1
AND "notifications"."account_id" = $2
AND "notifications"."snoozed_until" IS NULL
AND "notifications"."read_at" IS NULL
AND "notifications"."read_at" IS NULL -- Duplicate!
```
This was caused by a logic error in NotificationFinder#unread_count
introduced in commit cd06b2b33 (PR #8907). The method assumed
@notifications contained all notifications, but @notifications was
already filtered to unread notifications in most cases.
### The Default Query Flow:
1. Frontend calls: NotificationsAPI.getUnreadCount() →
/notifications/unread_count
2. No parameters sent, so params = {}
3. NotificationFinder setup:
- find_all_notifications: WHERE user_id = ? AND account_id = ?
- filter_snoozed_notifications: WHERE snoozed_until IS NULL
- filter_read_notifications: WHERE read_at IS NULL (because
type_included?('read') is false)
4. unread_count called: Adds another WHERE read_at IS NULL
----
### Solution
1. Added Missing Database Index
- Index: (user_id, account_id, snoozed_until, read_at)
2. Fixed Duplicate WHERE Clause Logic
Optimization #11183 missed a condition where the inbox_id filter is
manually passed. Due to the previous change, the inbox filter was being
discarded for admins, although it continued to work correctly for
agents.
This PR includes a fix for that specific case and adds a spec to
explicitly test it.
- `updated_within' accepts value in seconds and returns all conversations updated in the given period with out pagination. This API will assist in our refetch logic on socket disconnect
ref: #8888
Updating the `unattended` tab to include conversations where the customer responded and is awaiting an agent's response.
Previously it showed only the conversations where the first response was pending.

This change adds the ability to include a `source_id` param when querying the `/api/v1/accounts/{account_id}/conversations/search` endpoint. It restricts to results to only conversations related to a contact_inbox with the provided parameter. My motivation for adding this feature was to allow an external API to communicate with a specific conversation with only an awareness of the conversation `source_id` from the client.
